FAQs about book-n-use and NAH.SH
Answers for everyone booking a cycle parking space or a locker at the Bike & Ride facilities in Schleswig-Holstein: registration, reservations, access, invoices and cancellations.
General
book-n-use (BNU) is a reservation platform for cycle parking spaces and lockers. Through book-n-use, the operators allow their parking spaces and lockers to be booked and used for a limited time. Access – for example opening doors and lockers – is provided via book-n-use. No additional access cards, fobs or similar are needed.
Using the book-n-use reservation and booking portal is free of charge for anyone who wants to reserve a parking space or locker. Reserving a space does incur a fee. The charges are clearly displayed before you complete a reservation.
book-n-use works on any internet-enabled device with an up-to-date browser. This means you can use book-n-use at work or at home on a Windows or macOS desktop PC, or on the move on an iOS or Android tablet or smartphone.
book-n-use is a web app designed for the most widely used current browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Edge. There is no need to install anything from an app store or any separate software – simply open the book-n-use login page.
The Bike & Ride facilities are part of the State of Schleswig-Holstein’s Bike & Ride programme. The State, NAH.SH and your local authority have jointly funded the service.
The facility is owned by the local authority. For general questions about the Bike & Ride facility in your area, please contact your local authority.
BNU manages the rental and technical support of the facility on behalf of the local authority and is your contractual partner and the payee. If you have technical questions or problems with booking, use or payment, BNU will help.
NAH.SH funded and supervised the construction of the facilities. NAH.SH organises local public transport for the State of Schleswig-Holstein and coordinates the various mobility services.

Account and booking
You can register free of charge via book-n-use registration. Follow the instructions. Once registered, you can log in on the book-n-use login page and make a reservation straight away.
In the menu item Reservierung erstellen (create reservation), select the button Stellplatz reservieren (reserve space) and press WEITER (next). Once you have chosen the day and, where applicable, the time and location, all the details are shown again at a glance. Click Reservierung abschließen (complete reservation) and you are done. You will receive a confirmation email, and the reservation appears in the portal under Reservierte Stellplätze (reserved spaces).
In the menu item Aktuelle Reservierungen (current reservations), pick the reservation that is closest to what you need in terms of time, duration or location. Clicking the button in the Wiederholen (repeat) column creates a new reservation. You can still adjust all the details before completing it.
You can have your confirmation email sent again: go to the menu item Aktuelle Reservierungen (current reservations), click the reservation in question and then the Details tab. Click Buchungs-E-Mail erneut senden (resend booking email) and you will receive your confirmation email again.
Try to book a follow-on reservation via the portal. When booking, select your access to your cycle parking space or locker. If your booking location is occupied, please inform the relevant local authority. Under the terms and conditions, a penalty fee may be charged.
The menu item Aktuelle Reservierungen (current reservations) shows all your current and future reservations. For past reservations, go to the menu item Reservierungsverlauf (reservation history). There you can adjust the filter to find the right reservation. For every paid reservation, you can download your invoice by clicking the icon in the Beleg (receipt) column.
When you click your reservation in the book-n-use web portal, a menu with two tabs opens. Click the right-hand tab Details, where you will find the red button for cancelling your reservation.
On the login page, press the Passwort vergessen (forgotten password) button. You will receive an email with a link. Once you open the link, you can set a new password.
As a web app, book-n-use has the advantage that you don’t need to install an app, yet it works very much like one. To save book-n-use as an icon on your smartphone’s home screen, log in on the book-n-use login page and save this page as an icon. Follow the instructions for your operating system:
Once you close your account, all your user and reservation data will be deleted. Any remaining credit will be paid out to you. You should save your invoices beforehand. If you sign up again, none of your previous data will be available.
At the Bike & Ride facility
After your first registration at the Bike & Ride facility, all you need to do to open the door or the locker is show your QR code or enter your PIN. The available input options are marked on site at the facility. If you have entered the details correctly, the door of the facility or the locker will open.
During the rental period you can open and close the door with your access details as often as you like.
To lock the facility, simply let the door swing shut so that it engages in the locking mechanism again. If it is a sliding door, please pull it closed.
Yes. Simply push the locker door into the lock.
